What is our workers’ premium fund?

We want to ensure enjoying Fair Franks benefit both you and the makers of your shoes. For every FAIR FRANK pairs of shoes sold 5€ is directly contributed towards a workers’ premium fund for the benefit of the workers where the shoes are produced. The aim of this fund is to improve the livelihoods of the workers, their families and the communities in which they live.

The fund is distributed through bi-monthly meetings with the workers at the factory. The first workers’ premium fund distribution meeting is planned in January 2018. 60% of the fund, the majority share, is set equally distributed to all workers below a gross monthly benchmark wage. The other 40% of the fund is allocated to chosen development projects in the workers’ local communities. The projects will be chosen in collaboration between FAIR FRANK and Hafde and since it will take more time to find a matching project the first allocation of this part of the fund is planned in the next workers’ premium fund distribution meeting planned in March 2018.

You can track updates on how the workers and their families have benefited from the fund by tracing your Franks. There you can also read the stories of the people making your shoes.
